Cara is a registered psychologist with a passion for helping people achieve their goals and overcome life’s challenges. She is guided by a person-centred approach to therapy and uses evidence-based techniques from Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Schema Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Mindfulness, with a focus on somatic (body-based) strategies to ground and calm those experiencing anxiety and trauma responses, and for sensory or neurodivergent preferences and needs.
Working with each unique “whole person”, Cara empowers people to improve their health and wellbeing with Therapeutic Lifestyle Interventions that that provide tools for managing stress and mood throughout life.
Cara has a special interest in supporting people with neurodiversity and works from a strengths-based, neuroaffirming paradigm to support those with ADHD, Autism, OCD and other neurotypes. She also draws on experience working collaboratively with NDIS clients in the disability sector and supporting those with complex needs.
Cara adheres to core principles of compassion, respect and dignity, and brings her experience from her previous working life in the creative sector to her passion for understanding and supporting people to reach their potential.
