Dr Candice Jensen
Dr Candice Jensen is a general adult Psychiatrist. Dr Jensen has expertise in the assessment and treatment of adults with a range of mental health conditions. She has a particular passion for perinatal and youth mental health.
Dr Jensen completed her medical degree at the University of Glasgow in 2006 and worked for the NHS for two years before moving to Sydney in 2008. Dr Jensen trained in Psychiatry within the South Eastern Sydney network and obtained her fellowship with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) in 2017. She focused her advanced training on youth mental health and perinatal psychiatry. She was awarded a NSW Institute of Psychiatry fellowship in youth mental health and completed a year of her advanced training working between The Bondi Junction Early Psychosis Programme and headspace Youth Early Psychosis Programme (hYEPP) Mount Druitt. For her final year of advanced training Candice focused on her interest in perinatal mental health. She worked between The Royal Hospital for Women, Karitane Randwick and St George Hospital supporting women and their families through the perinatal period.
Since gaining fellowship Dr Jensen has been working as a staff specialist for the Comprehensive Assessment Service for Psychosis and At Risk (CASPAR) across the South Eastern Sydney network. She works within a multidisciplinary team who provide an in-reach service to headspace centres, assess young people with new onset severe mental illness and provide early intervention. She started private practice work in October 2018.
Dr Jensen has a keen interest in the areas of Perinatal Psychiatry and general adult and Youth (age 16+) assessment and management of: anxiety disorders including OCD, mood disorders including depression and bipolar disorder, personality disorders, psychotic disorders such as schizophrenia, PTSD as well as grief and loss
