Dr Asad Malik
Dr Asad Malik completed his medical degree (MBBS) in Lahore (Pakistan) followed by the Australian Medical Council examinations. Dr Malik trained as a Psychiatrist (Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists) in Sydney and on Sunshine Coast (QLD). He later returned to Sydney to complete his advanced training in Psychiatry of old age and is currently work as a consultant Psychiatrist in both hospital and outpatient clinic settings in Northern Sydney Local Health District. Dr Malik has special interests in mood and anxiety disorders, psychosis, bipolar disorder, substance abuse disorders and neurodegenerative disorders such as dementia. He has also worked as an associate lecturer with the University of Queensland and is currently linked with the University of Sydney for medical teaching in Psychiatry.
Dr Malik’s goal is to reduce stigma associated with mental illnesses, and to assist people in rural and regional communities to access the same quality mental health care which people in major cities have.
